Scouting For Food
WE WILL NOT BE DROPPING OFF FOOD AT EAST FORT BEND HUMAN MINISTRY
I was informed that they have another event on Feb 4 and will NOT be accepting any food on February 4. If your unit wishes to deliver there YOU MUST arrange a different day and time for the drop off.
However I have secured 3 other locations that will be more than happy to accept your unit’s food on Saturday Feb. 4. They are:
Holy Family Catholic Church Food Pantry; 1510 5th Street; Missouri City TX 77489 Troop 1003 will be working this drop off location
Sacred Heart Food Pantry; 14307 Hwy 6; Arcola TX 77583 Troop 441 will be working this drop off location
Bethel Ministry; 3015 5th St; Stafford TX 77477 Troop 103 will be working this drop off location
I still have 25,000 door hangers to place on doors in your neighborhoods. I will be Highlands Elementary Monday evening Jan 23 from 7-8:00 PM, if you will be coming by to pick up your hangers please send me an email

District Award Nominations
The Thunder Wolf District will conduct its annual awards dinner on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Christ United Methodist Church. A flyer will come out soon with more details; however, in order to help you prepare nominations for the various awards presented at the dinner, please use the following information. The forms for each of these awards are available on the district website: www.thunderwolfdistrict.com/downloads/category/23-district-committee
1. The district will award two District Awards of Merit to outstanding adult leaders in the district. This is the highest award an adult can receive in the district, and reflects contributions not only to units, but to the district as a whole. There are two versions of this form available, one that can be filled out by hand, and one that can be done electronically. Use either one. A leader may NOT nominate himself for this award.
2. Thunder Wolf awards are an informal award from the district that recognize the contributions of leaders at either unit or district level. See the form for more details. We expect to select 5-8 adults for this recognition.
3. Unit Awards of Excellence. These awards recognize the outstanding units in the district that have a healthy program, and contribute significantly to the community. Units must nominate themselves for this award. The award forms are different for Packs, Troops or Crews.
4. Thunder Wolf Family of the Year. This award recognizes one of our active scouting families as a way to encourage family involvement in our program. The nominations are reviewed by the FOY recipients for the previous year. This year, Kim and Scott Icenhower will be the selection committee for this award.
5. Charter Partner Award. This award is intended to recognize Charter Organizations that go out of their way to support scouting.
Please consider making appropriate nominations for each of these awards. Please also contact me if you need any help or have questions about the forms or the process. Thanks
Yours in Scouting
