Day Camp is an opportunity for Scouts entering 1st – 5th grade during the 2015-2016 school year to make new friends, earn rank advancements and enjoy BB guns, archery, sports, skills, and crafts. Lots of volunteers are needed to make camp a success, so please consider volunteering. Adult volunteers can also register their non scouting children ages 3-5 (potty trained) or girls ages 6-13. Boy Scouts and youth ages 14-17 can also volunteer. Participants receive a t-shirt and patch. Every Scout will receive a t-shirt and patch. Day Camp advancements supplement the exciting program offered at Resident Camp.
At camp, Cub Scouts will salute those heroes who help keep us safe and secure each and every day. Can only adults be heroes? Heroes are often ordinary kids who did something out of the ordinary! Sometimes a hero is obvious, the policeman who risks his life to protect us from violence or the fireman who pulls people out of burning buildings. Some people around us seem like regular people, but they are heroes because they used to be soldiers in the military and served our country to keep us free. Heroes are all around us. You never know when or where emergencies will arise. Scouting teaches us how to handle these situations. We don’t expect to get hurt, and don’t expect to need first aid, but we are prepared just in case. Do Your Best! One person can make a difference. One person who helps can change someone’s world. Maybe one day the hero will be you or your Cub Scout.

In the coming months Thunder Wolf District will be sending out volunteers to give a short presentation on behalf of Friends of Scouting. These volunteers are leaders right here in Thunder Wolf District. Please help and support them when they visit your Unit.
It is very important that we all give our support to helping this worthwhile cause. The funds collected from this campaign will directly benefit youth in our area and give our Council the needed resources to provide one of the best Scouting programs in the Country. All donations to Friends of Scouting are tax deductible.
I hope you will join me in supporting Friends of Scouting,
Vince Donart, FOS Chair 2015
Thunder Wolf District,
As we start to head into the Cub Scout Summer Day Camp program, we will again be needing trained Range Masters for both the Archery and BB Gun ranges. If you are an adult interested in helping on the ranges, you will need to attend one of the following potential class offerings. Additionally, if you are trained already please check to see if your training expires prior to the end of Summer Day Camp (June 12, 2015). If you expire prior to that date you will also need to attend a training session.
For more information, please check out the District Training Site.
